Celebrate the New Year with one of Greece’s most cherished traditions.
Our handmade Vasilopita is more than a delicious cake — it’s a symbol of hope, good fortune and new beginnings.
Each cake is lovingly baked with Greek yoghurt and real orange juice for a soft, fragrant crumb. A lucky coin (flouri) is added inside, and whoever finds it in their slice is believed to receive good luck for the year ahead. This tradition is closely connected with sharing the cake among family and friends during New Year celebrations.
About the Cake
Freshly baked to order, this cake serves around 10 people and stays fresh for 3–4 days when kept covered in an airtight container.
What is Vasilopita Cake?
In Greek tradition, the start of the New Year is marked by cutting the Vasilopita cake with families and friends gathered around. As the cake is cut ceremoniously, excitement fills the air – everyone eagerly awaits to discover who will find the hidden coin in their slice. The lucky finder is said to receive extra blessings and luck for the year ahead!
